ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS:

Chair Report: Hello Ozark Area: 9/29/07

We are fast approaching the time I give up the chair. It has been a privilege to serve on this committee. I have tried to keep up on the guidelines and I think I have all the changes finished and will have copies at the next OASC as stated in the guidelines. It has been a pleasure to serve with all of you. Keep up the good work. ILS Kenny C

Vice-Chair Report: Greetings OASC: 9/29/07

This past month I attended meetings in Joplin and I was fortunate enough to spend several one-on-one hours with some of my sponsees as well as some other addicts in the program outside of meetings. My son and I attended WCNA in San Antonio and had a wonderful experience over-all. It is such a pleasure to be clean and involved in the growth of Narcotics Anonymous. NA continues to welcome new and returning members into our fellowship all over the world! Earlier today I facilitated the joint subcommittee meeting from 1:45pm- 3:15pm. Several addicts attended this joint subcommittee meeting. It seemed to go well. In October the subcommittees have decided to have a joint subcommittee meeting again preferably on the same Saturday as area. PLEASE be sure I have a mailing address and a phone number for a contact person for your group whether it is you or someone else. If you have a change to report just add a note to the end of your report today and I will update my records. October is our election month and my term as Vice Chair will end with old business. It has been a pleasure to serve the area in this capacity. ILS - Shelie V, OASC Vice Chair

H&I: Hello Ozark Area:

I am an addict named Steve who is humbly representing the H&I subcommittee. In the subcommittee we addressed the issues at the Lafayette House. James has taken over as the liaison position for c-star for Don G. Mike was voted in for Secretary. The problem for taking medication at the tables of OC 3rd & Virginia was addressed. We had several people step down from these positions and James and Mike O have stepped up to help with this issue. Literature has been distributed and the woman’s jail is doing fine in Jasper County. Men’s side let some staples get in and our area is going to get back on track with the men’s side of Jasper County Jail. Also with all the new groups we need to know if there are any of these groups carrying the message to any treatment center or jails. In Loving Service, Steve S

PI: Hello OASC:                                     9/29/07

I am Sandee-P I Chair, everything is going good, I have been trying diligently on trying to find a P I Vice Chair, and as of yet I have had no luck.  I was contacted about 3 weeks ago to see if I wanted to participate in the Drug and Alcohol Awareness Month Activities at the Memorial Hall, I went and set up a table to represent Narcotics Anonyous, also attending with me were Robyn V, Kim S, and James ?  I feel that we had a very good turnout getting the different agency's together from the community to let people get a better understanding on how much this problem has an impact on our community. I found out at 8:00 a.m. that we have no scheduals for the area, so I called around and priced the printing on them and then called Jackee (treasure for oasc) to get her imput on this, she okayed me to go ahead and get them printed so that we would have them for this month. Robyn V. is interested in the Webmaster position, and she has a small conflict, and she is here for this meeting, and I will let her discuss this matter with the Area.

I am very sorry to regret that due to a very recent financial situation, I feel it in the best interest of N A and the Area as a whole that I resign my position as P I Chair at this time, due to the fact that at this time I am unsure as to what my living arrangments will be in the near future,  I enjoyed working with the area and everyone while I was in this position, and I will miss the involvement in the area of recovery,  I L S  Sandee A.

Webmaster Report for September read by PI Chair:

The website is running well, with no problems. Archives are current, and any flyers given to me this month have been posted. The only noticeable item is that there were fewer hits ( around 200 fewer) this year in the month of July than last year at the same time. Typically, the website has a dramatically higher hit rate this month, due to the HOLP flyer that is posted in Activities. Otherwise, looking forward eagerly and sadly to handing over the reigns of the website to some lucky individual! P. S. On the Ozark Area Website, all of the Guidelines are available for each subcommittee; they are all the most recent ones, to my knowledge. ILS, Debra B. Ozark Area Website Coordinator
