Vice-Chair: Greetings OASC,
Over this last month I have been getting familiar with the area and subcommittee guidelines. I downloaded my copies of the guidelines from the Ozark Area website. I noticed several typos in the area guidelines. For instance, OAPC was typed 2 times instead of OASC. GET and GER were typed in 2 places instead of GSR. The lettering was off in 7.2, 8.2, 8.3, 10.1,10.2 and 11.1. I also noticed that on my copy of 6.3c the HOLP is referred to instead of the AASC.
Yesterday I attended subcommittee meetings from 2:15 to 5pm. There were 6 addicts in attendance at the PI subcommittee meeting, 14 addicts attended the H&I ,meeting, and 12 addicts were at the AASC meeting. At the PI subcommittee meeting I planned to bring up the fact that I contacted our area webmaster this last week. During the last OASC meeting an addict asked how long the webmaster’s term was and how someone goes about getting nominated for that position. I emailed Deborah and asked her when her term is up. She wrote back and explained that the PI subcommittee members nominate an addict from the PI subcommittee for the position. Then the PI chair takes that nomination to the OASC meeting for approval. Maybe this can be further discussed during the sharing session. I also attended the adhoc subcommittee meeting that was given the task to research ideas for closer sites for the HOLP. I’ll let David present that information to you himself.
Since my home group’s business meeting was at 1pm Sat. I missed PI subcommittee mtg. Pat briefed me on what decisions were made at the mtg when I arrived. I spoke with Allen before this mtg and compared my copy of the guidelines to his. His copy does not have the typos. Allen said he would get with Deborah to see about correcting her copy of the guidelines.

I need a GSR to nominate me during this meeting. I can read my resume at that time if you wish. If any of you need sets of guidelines please notate what you need on your group report today.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:
AASC Report to OASC
AASC met at We Do Recover on June 24th at 2:30 with about 12 addicts attending. We covered a lot of stuff in preparation for the picnic. At this time, everything seems to be on schedule. (Only time will tell) We have food, drinks, speakers, merchandise and dedicated committee members, so hopefully the rest will fall into place. Once again, I want to say “THANK-YOU” to everyone who has helped on this sub-committee this year.
Sorry I didn’t make it to the last month’s area. We have a donation of $ 160 from the last function.
David B. came to the Sub-committee meeting and we asked him to present the information that the ad-hoc committee had gathered about the potential move back to Stockton for the picnic next year. Overall the members of the sub-committee were positive and excited about the potential move. So if this area chooses to move back to Stockton, I feel sure that there are some very dedicated members that will help make the move a success. We would like to ask this area to try to have a decision before the picnic so that we can announce the move at the picnic before the main speaker on Sat.
We have coffee cups and T-Shirts for sell
Any group needing help with a function can ask for help from the AASC. The AASC has coffee pots that the groups can use.
$ 200.00 AASC
$ 1,052.55 HOLP
$ 1,252,55 Total

15 MINUTE BREAK:
SHARING SESSION:
Secretary states: Several months ago there was a special Ad-Hoc Committee held discussing the lengths of time information should be made available to the OASC at each monthly meeting. I believe Pam M. has some archives in a box. Would the OASC like for me to scan that material and burn it on a CD? If so, someone from the Committee needs to contact Pam M. for me to receive the information. I have spoke to Pam M. about this and she said what ever the OASC would like to do, just let her know and she would give me the information. I have plenty of time to do this, and all the CD’s available. The OASC will not have to pay for the CD’s. Approved.
Explain all the information about web master, table to next month until the PI Chair is here to discuss this topic.
It was asked if Area could find a building located here in Joplin for our functions. Renita explained the figures and the responsibilities vary and deposits are not being giving back to area. Bruce has checked into multi use for areas.
