RCM:

I received group update information from the WSO and will pass out the forms I got for Fifth Tradition, Butterflies Are Free, Together in Unity, and Spiritual Principles, But Do It and Survivors.  Please file these with your group’s important papers.  Keep these papers because your group code is on the sheets.  With this code you can communicate directly with the WSO to change any meeting information.  It is very important that this information be current so that an addict doesn’t die looking for a meeting that isn’t there.  I am also giving copies for these notices to the PI Chair so there is another copy available in the event your group copy gets lost.  The World Service Literature committee is still looking for personal stories for the Basic Text, they will be taken until December.  The regional literature committee is still willing to come here to put on a workshop.  The time can be used to work on stories for the new section of the Basic Text.

SMRCNA XX, put on by Zone 5 (SWMO Area and Ozark Area) had a profit of $ 8164.73 as of Regional.  The SMRCNA Board brought up the idea of having SMRCNA in the same location every year and still has the various zones continue to rotate responsibility for putting on the convention.  I would like feedback on this to take back to regional in October.  Can this be a topic for discussion during the sharing session?

There are 6 vacancies on the RSO Board of Directors.  They meet in St. Louis the first Sunday after Regional.  This is a five year clean time requirement and they would love to have representation from this part of the state.

The Regional AWAM chair has given the requirements for function information to be posted on the Regional website.  He needs: Time & Date of function, name(s) and phone number(s) of contact person/people, and Name of the Area putting on the function.

The ad hoc committee that was formed to gather information about a regional phone line folded for lack of a chair person.  The Regional PI has taken over the responsibility for getting information together and bringing something back to the Region.

We were given the Regional rotation for the areas to host the RBM. Ozark area will be responsible for hosting Regional April 2008.  If the area doesn’t have the support to put on the Regional function, the Regional AWAM committee is available to provide assistance.

I have gotten the résumé’s and will need votes next month so here are the positions and the nominees.  See résumé’s on the attachments behind the Area notes.  If you don’t have a vote from your group then just bring back you abstentions.  I will not be a group’s conscious.  For RSO BOD (vote yes, no, or abstain for each person, there are 2 positions that are being voted on leaving 4 vacant positions.

Jim L. & Mel R.

For SMRCNA BOD (2 positions to be filled  David B. (Ozark Area) SMRCNA XX Chair person.  Jean B.(SWMO Area SMRCNA XX Vice Chair

There is also a motion to be voted on:  Motion 0709501

To have the Region reimburse the executive subcommittee chairs lodging for 1 night for Regional Business

Intent:  Self supporting Regional Body, prudent allocation of funds.  If there are questions about the votes please bring them up in the sharing session.

In Grateful Service, Becky M., RCM

RCM Alternate:  vacant
