ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS:

Vice-Chair Report: Greetings OASC: 8/25/07

Earlier today I facilitated the joint subcommittee meeting from 1:30pm- 3:15pm. Several addicts attended this joint subcommittee meeting. It seemed to go well. In September the subcommittees have decided to have a joint subcommittee meeting again preferably on a Saturday before area. However, more time is requested. Subcommittees are asking to meet from 1:30pm to 3:30pm in September.

This past month I attended meetings in Joplin. NA continues to welcome new and returning members into our fellowship. The third Thursday of August I met Steve S. and Tony G. at 3rd & Virginia for the 9am Book Study meeting at C-Star. I had some concerns from this meeting that we discussed earlier today at the joint subcommittee meeting.

Thank you, those of you who have been emailing your reports to me. This does save me some work. If you can send those reports before we meet for area, that would be great. GSRs – PLEASE be sure I have a mailing address and a phone number for a contact person for your group whether it is you or someone else. Just add a note to the end of your report today and I will update my records.

Since October is our election month and Vice Chair is one of those positions up for election I would like to inform this area that I do not plan to serve as Vice Chair of the OASC another term. If someone else is interested in the position, please submit your resume to area. This position is scheduled to be voted on in October. ILS - Shelie V, OASC Vice Chair

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:

AASC: Report to OASC:

First I would like to say everyone did a wonderful job. This subcommittee is awesome. Thank each and every one of you for everything you did and all your hard work. From a recovery and spiritual stand point the picnic was a huge success. A very clear NA message was carried thru our speakers, workshops and the overall attitude of the picnic. From a financial stand point not so good. With all the confusion about moving the picnic and whether or not the campground would be open we lost between 160-200 people. We were left with 55 tank tops, 11 t-shirts, 86 coffee cups and 18 bandanas. If this merchandise had sold at the picnic it would have totaled $1441. After all expenses our account balance will be $1169.08. The area chili cook off will be announced next month. ILS, Renita G

H&I: Hello Ozzark Area:

I am an addict named Steve who is humbly representing the H&I subcommittee. It has been brought to the attention of the H&I subcommittee that medication is being taken at the table during our presentation. Don & I will make an appointment to talk to Rick about this issue and see if we can have it addressed. The subcommittee has shown concern about individuals carrying the message into our facilities. Don & I will get together and contact the liaisons of these facilities and get a time together for an informational get together. Also Don G was voted in as H&I Vice Chair. Ozark Center at C-Star missed a meeting and the other issue will be addressed. Ozark Center at Picher is going well. Lafayette House will be addressed and see what can be done there. No report from the McDonald County Jail. We now have literature and will get that distributed to the proper people. We will be looking for a secretary and the clean time requirement is one year. In Loving Service, Steve S

PI: Hello OASC:

I am Sandee, your PI Chair. I finally got through to the people I needed to on the PSA update. We currently have 4 spots running. Everything is going fine with them. They explained to me that they will be running until the end of 2007. In January we can update them or we can have them reinstated for another year. All of the literature racks that I am responsible for are full. We are having trouble at Probation & Parole as people keep putting their stuff in our rack in front of our literature. I have made a couple of trips up there to fix it and other members have also been fixing it also when they see it messed up. I called Michael Bodine to check on the racks in Neosho but never got a hold of him. Hopefully he will be here today and he can give me his information. On the phoneline update, Bruce & Jackee have that information and I will get it this morning for the meeting. I am still asking different people if they would be interested in the PI Vice Chair position and as of today I have not found anyone interested in that position. PI Chair position will be up in October and providing what changes will be needed to be made as of the Webmaster position becoming open also in October and I am aware that changes may have to be made to the PI Chair position. I may not qualify to be PI Chair as of those changes. I have been nominated for PI Chair. Louise T was nominated and seconded for PI Secretary. I would like to ask for money for ink for PI printer/scanner. $17 just for black ink. I am sending around a copy of the schedule for any changes that need to be made. ILS  - Sandee A

Webmaster Report for August read by PI Chair:

Website Report: The website is updated to reflect current changes. I had a problem last month as the website had changed the http address, which meant the archived minutes were unavailable for awhile, since they were linked using the old http address.  These are all fixed now. No other problems. One suggestion: what about creating a button for the Subcommittees on the homepage? Each committee could have a space where they could post any info they would want. We can discuss it tomorrow, if anyone's interested. Debra B, Have a nice day!

GROUP REPORTS:

But Do It:

But Do It is a closed meeting that meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm at 1502 Michigan bldg 2 in the basement. Due to water damage we have been meeting at Par Hill Park (17th & Kansas) and will continue to meet there for at least another month, maybe even longer. If the building isn’t repaired soon we might be finding a new place to meet. Birthday week this month will be held at Yvonne G 2127 Conner. The Park Cant Put A Price On Recovery picnic was a success. But Do It would like to thank the area for moving committee meeting so it didn’t conflict with picnic. We also have a $60 donation for the area.

In Loving Service, Don G Alt GSR
