AAS- Hello Ozark Area,The Activities Ad Hoc Committee meeting was held yesterday at We Do Recover with 4 addicts in attendance. Things have gone fairly smooth and we have an approval form of both the proposed Area Activities Sub Committee Guidelines and Timeline for each group to take back and look over. The committee feels more than confident that our thoughts and ideas that we have came up with will work well for any committee that the OASC would appoint. The guidelines are very basic but also, detailed. The timeline is very detailed from month to month and from beginning to end. I would like to mention that during the 3 months that the Ad Hoc Committee has met we have had no opposing view points brought to our attention. We as a committee honestly feel like this will be the best decision that the Groups could make for our OASC activities now and for the future.
Myself and David B. will be here next month if any questions would arise so that we can answer them and move forward with a positive growth in our Area Services. Thanks to the OASC and the groups that we serve for your trust and confidence, it was truly a pleasure to fulfill this service commitment. In Loving Service,Kenny C.
Hospitals and Institutions – Ozark Area H&I Subcommittee is thriving and carrying the message. 16 members were in attendance, several newcomers. Support continues to be strong. Chair note: I find it very interesting that a seemingly loosely organized, somewhat chaotic Subcom meeting can bring fourth so much result....( the dictionary defines a team as "a group of people working toward a common goal", and we got team! - discussed the importance of continuing to actively recruit eligable participants and consequences of chair's misrepresentation of section E of H&I Guidlines.- Discussed language usage ( clean recovery) and a clear concise NA message. - Macdonald County Liaison continues to request support for our jail meeting there. Several Joplin area members volunteered. - Subcommittee reviewed guidelines regaurding the importance of 2 or more members for presentations. We can learn from situations which occur so as to protect ourselves. - Chair brought up Regional request to maximize H&I presence at as many functions as posible. Subcommittee talked about ideas for a workshop to be presented at High on Life Picnic, July 2004. - Chair confirmed the need for active members' commitment during this time of fun and functions- a useful tool: individual personal calenders. Chair position H&I open after May OASC. service with a smile, Alan F.
Literature Review – Hello Ozark Area, My report is like last month and the month before; therefore, no report. I feel that from day one of taking on Literature Review I have done it no justice. so I'm stepping down and out of this position so that another recovering addict who is deserving to do service work for their area can have this position. My excuse for stepping down: I feel that I don't possess the leadership or people skills to hold this position. P.S. I will continue to hold this position untill another takes my place.
Public Information – Empty seat
HOLP – Hello Ozark Area, We held the HOLP meeting April 24th @ 2:30. We had great attendance. All the speakers are in place. I'm sending a flyier around for groups to submit workshop topics.
