Administrative Reports:  Chair: Hello Ozark Area,  I want to thank everyone for the honor of serving as Chair. I have learned a lot about service and as well a lot about me. As I continue on my road to recovery I will most certainly remember what I have been taught here- good, bad and indifferent. I will always remember the addict who still suffers and the people who give up their time to do service. In loving Service, Wendy A.

Hospitals and Institutions – October11, 2003: Ozark Area H&I Subcommittee Report

Ozark Area H&I Subcommittee is thriving and carrying the message-Rock on!!!!!

We opened our Subcom meeting promptly—5 minutes late.

In the spirit of cooperation with AWAM, we first discussed timeslot for our workshop at the annual Chili Cook-off Function November 15th at the Galena Senior Citizen Center. Workshop 4:30-6:00 pm; look for the fliers that will circulate.

No response from either Newton or MacDonald Counties in reference to Subcom letters sent last month.

H&I (what is the message) t-shirts available upon order. Black with white lettering, white with red lettering, blue with white lettering. Short sleeved T’s as of now. Discussed long-sleeved T’s for next order and tank tops around spring.

Subcom chair expressed concern in reference to an instance in which a meeting was carried in by a single member. At this point, Subcom discussed proper protocol and Do’s and Don’ts.

Bill W. appointed as liaison for House of Hope.

Chair to take to Regionals a question of sexual preference and its ramifications in presentations brought to same-sex treatment centers. Subcom discussed remembering what our purpose is. (Chair realizes the havoc this one point will create, but when a question is brought to him, it is his duty to address it.)

Chair informed all chairpersons and liaisons that it is their responsibility to maintain a positive productive flow in their meetings.

Next H&I Subcom meeting November Saturday before Ozark Area.   In loving service, Alan F. Ozark Area H&I Chair

Literature Review - Darlene L.   Greetings,   Lit Rev is recieving items for the next edition of the Spiritual Growth newsletter.   Keep those stories and anniversaries coming.  We still have room for more.  Lit Rev is meeting again on Oct 30, 2003 @ 6:00pm at We Do Recover.  There are flyers out about what the newsletter needs.  Have not ordered Sponsorship info yet.  I had planned to just pay for it myself and get reimbursed but bills, bills, bills.  I am so sorry for this, especially after all the discussion we had at the last OASC.  I will need to get a check today for the 5 copies we requested and I'll get that to NAWS this week. ILS, Darlene L

Public Information – report by Linda Q - The PI Subcommittee met on October 11th at We Do Recover. 12 addicts attended. The meeting schedules are printed. Linda Q. reimbursed Debra B. $7.50 for printing costs. The subcommittee went over and approved web-site and web-site coordinator guidelines and approved them for submission to Area for approval to add to the PI guidelines. PI will meet the Saturday before Area at 4pm at We Do Recover. In loving service, Linda Q.

HOLP – Nancy M.   Hello Ozark Area,  The HOLP meeting went great. I have some pre-registration flyers to give to the groups. If you pre-register and buy merchandise, you get a discount but you can’t pick it up until the picnic. Hopefully we’ll be able to order long sleeve and shirts and sweatshirts soon. Subcommittees can schedule their own workshop at HOLP. Also, groups be thinking about if they want to do a workshop. Send speaker tapes or submit names to Linda Q. Spent 8.81 on 150 flyers. Thanks to all those who attended. In Loving Service, Nancy M.
