Hello OASC,
The information from Open Forum is as follows:
Quincy is struggling with apathy of members and needs to know ways to get them involved.
SEMO suggested one on one contact with members and bringing members to region to see the involvement there.
Jim suggested they have PI learning days (“Bring food and they will come”) he would be happy to go anyplace and help them with that, with advanced notice, of course.
Mindy suggested to have Regional Assemblies in different Areas especially struggling Areas.
Outreach was discussed because there has been no Regional Outreach chair for awhile. The general consensus is that we need one and anybody willing to do this can get involved at a Regional level as Outreach chair. Questions were raised about how to do Outreach and Larry from KC Area said they visit and support struggling groups and they go by the Handbook and it works for them.
The $250,000 embezzled from the WSO was recovered through insurance they have.
Long discussion regarding an Area that had about $800 embezzled and how to proceed in light of the fact that the 10-year statute of limitations is nearing.
In Loving Service,
Steve H.
Hello Area, I’m Sandee,
I attended the function at Galena. The function went well. Rob could not be here due to a sick child. I am standing in for AWAMs Chairperson.
I have the money raised from the function. The building has been paid, the expenses, I believe have been taken out. We have a ten dollar donation for Area.
In Loving Service,

Discussion: About carrying around so much cash for so long. The function was held New Year’s eve.
Discussion: Where do motions to Region go now that Dale is no longer RCM? Determined that they go to the RCM-Alt.

Hello Area,
Things are going very well for H & I. We had our sub-committee meeting
yesterday and we had approximately 13 addicts attending...Thank you everyone
for attending.
We are still holding 10 NA meetings at 3 facilities: 4 meetings a month at
Ozark Center,2 meetings a month at Lafayette House and 4 jail meetings
(2 meetings at Jasper County Jail and 2 meetings at jail facility in Neosho).
We do have some additions and changes to H & I:
Jackee C., after chairing jail meeting for over a year has stepped down as chair and Renita G. is taking over jail meeting starting March 8th. Renita will be giving her position at Lafayette and we have someone who has taken over the chair position. Thank you Jackee for past chair responsibility and thanks to Renita for taking the position of chair.
We have a new meeting starting Feb. 6th at "House Of Hope" in Grove. House of Hope is a in house 28 day treatment facility that has no NA support. H & I's NA presentation will be starting once a month and chaired and supported by Dave B, Dale S. and Doug B.
If meetings are successful these meetings may increase. Thank you Steve for asking H & I to carry the message into your facility and thank you to Dave, Dale and Doug for stepping up and making this meeting possible.
We have quite a few women who are now involved in H & I and hopefully we may be able to once again increase Lafayette House's meeting to 4 times a month instead 2 meetings a month.
I am very proud to be part of our area's H & I sub-committee.
Love & Service,
Kenny C.

The Ozark Area Public Information Subcommittee met Jan. 25, 2003. A report was given about Regional PI work. The RSC has asked for reports from both tech companies regarding phone systems for a Reg. Phone line. Reg. PI Chair, Jim C. has contacted a website builder about a Reg. Website. We discussed what we would like to see on the site.
Ozark Area PSA taskforce continuing formatting announcements and fazing radio stations. Renita will be helping Russ.
More addresses and suggested guests were compiled for the Community NA PI Seminar. The chair will compile list, to date. Discussed pre-calling or calling those invited a few days after invitations are sent - no decision was made. People interested in presenting on the panel include Tammy B., Sandee A., Russ W., Bridget B., Craig B., Linda Q., and David B., David D. offered to be a back up. The panel presentation can be expanded to include four people, with both a man and a woman briefly telling their story. Copies of the presentation outline will be made by the chair and given to those interested. Wendy and myself may be meeting with Freeman Hospital this week to set a date.
The local phoneline number is messed up, it plays a recording. SW Bell is working on it. Craig and Russ agreed to place calls to the answering service posing as addicts making calls to see what kind of service they get. Meeting closed. Next meeting 2/15/03 2:00pm.
Doug B. (acting Chair)
Had our subcommittee meeting on the 25th, firmed up the picnic menu, had preliminary discussion about speaker selection, fine-tuned the artwork for the shirts, and gave the green light to ordering hooded sweatshirts.
We have 230 dollars in the shirt find to date. Expenses have been 8 dollars for printing 1000+ pre-registration flyers.
Next subcommittee mtg. Saturday Feb. 15, 3:30pm at WDR.

Our Birthday might will be January 31st and we have 5 addicts picking up a year. 1 addict picking up 2 years. 1 addict picking up 3 years. 2 addicts picking up 5 years. Addicts are staying clean. Yeah!

Hello Fellow Addicts,
Survivors meets Mon-Sat at noon. Our business meetings are the Saturday before Area meets directly following our noon meeting. We welcome everyone to attend. Our average meeting attendance. For December was 35 addicts. Our highest attendance for the moth was 58.
Since our change in formats, our Book Study meetings are going much better. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has visited our meetings and shared in recovery with us. We welcome the support of all addicts.
Yesterday at our business meeting we planned for our February 22nd Function. Shavett G. will speak at the Senior Citizens Center in Galena, KS at 7pm. We will be selling nachos, chili, hot dogs, chili dogs, Frito Pie and Soda. Tammy M. is our new secretary and Tanya L. has been nominated as our Alternate GSR.
Last month my group sent me to Area five tasks. I completed 3/5. Two I failed to accomplish.
#1) I am to ask when OASC Chair will be added to our bank account.
#2) I am to task the OASC to create a website with an online schedule of our meeting.
We have $68.00 donation for the Area.
Grateful to be of Service, Shelie Vaughan 1-25
Discussion: Region is in the process of getting a website up for the Areas to use. Discussion tabled to new business.
Just for Today Group of Neosho
January 26, 2003
Greetings Ozark Area,
What’s new in Neosho?
Our Group Name is new; effective December 6, 2002 a motion was made and passed. The new group name is registered with World.
The Just for Today Group meets at the First Baptist Church in Neosho, 201 Jefferson, Neosho Mo., at Noon. Mondays are a closed discussion meeting. Fridays are an Open literature study/or discussion. Both meetings are non-smoking.
Slowly our meetings are getting back on track. From zero attendance every Friday to 4-6 in attendance. Mondays continue with 8 to 12 in attendance.
More improvement too with the group finances; we’ve come from a zero balance with no prudent reserve and behind in our rent in September, to having very small balances with our prudent reserve restored and the rent caught up and paid through Feb. 2003. We have a $15.00 donation for Ozark Area today.
Respectfully Submitted
Brian F. G.S.R., JFT Group of Neosho
Good Afternoon Area 1-23-03
The Never Alone group is doing pretty good, we are located at 405 7th St., which is on the corner of 7th and Cole St., in Monett. We meet in the basement of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, we are a non-smoking meeting and we are handicapped accessible for that with that need. Normally we have our group business meeting the 1st Tuesday of the month after the regular meeting it was postponed until January 14, I wish I could say the I come to Area prepared but regrettably that has not happened, I did not notice the item about Rob G. for AWAM in time to discuss with the entire group. I was only able to contact 6 members of the group prior to Area. They were surprised to see someone take a position without NA members seeing a resume, we hope that Rob G. can do the job but the voice of the other 6 addicts told me that I am partly responsible for this, and I agree with them; they said I should have been here even though I wasn’t feeling well. I am responsible and should have been here because I neglected that, their voice was not heard. I let them down and I let myself sown. We would have also like to have voted on Vice-Chair also, even though we all know Dale.

We’re building a prudent reserve and working on purchasing some key tags. We will be holding our business meetings the 1st Sunday of the month after the regular meeting. This is an open/non-smoking meeting.

The basket donation of $15.00 was given to We Do Recover for use of the building.
Sharing Session:
Bank account discussion. It will be taken care of.
Website discussion. Appropriate to task PI with putting together area website. PI knows nothing about building web sites. Should we put together HTML? Questioned if groups are interested. PI will get meeting list added to the World Website and compile information about putting together an Area website. Since Region is planning a website should we “jump the gun” ?
Letter from Kristy C. of the Utah Region Campvention Committee read by Dale S.
