RCM Report:   Hello Ozark Area,   Region again was a awesome experience. First thing Saturday we voted on Vice- Chair & Secretary. Edward D. was elected Vice- Chair and john S. Secretary. Treasurer resigned. Regional Delegate reported need for input for NA Way this was also brought up in Literature Review report. NA Way is looking for input from members, groups, and areas.

February 2nd there will be a Conference Agenda Report workshop in Lebanon. Then we had Group Reports. I informed Region we were doing ok, also about our website.

In RCM open forum the topic was, again, non support in smaller Areas. Suggestion was to get on a more personal level with newcomers. Make them feel welcome. About Groups who don't participate with Area some Areas don't put these groups on meeting schedules. Some agreed, some didn't. Also about Areas setting boundaries and how well can we serve them, and to let Region know what is Area's responsibility to Groups they feel are breaking Traditions.. The 4th Tradition was brought up, also about people with clean time going and sharing a clear NA message and about clarity statements. The meeting was closed by me; I suggested the Lord's Prayer, and after a few frowns I suggested the Gratitude Prayer.

Sunday, in Subcommittee reports H&I reported Areas present and that they will be doing a workshop at Cabin Fever.  Literature, 14 attended, 7 Areas. They talked about new stuff for Sponsorship, new questions and that they would like to be more involved. They are available for Literature workshops if anyone is interested. They are still doing evaluation on Basic Text. They will also be doing a workshop at Cabin Fever on the literature part of the C.A.R. Also about NA Way needing input, and to do this there is a release form included in this. Also about Worldwide Workshop in Chicago February 2nd.

PI reported Mid Mo Area using an 800# and a website.

RSO reported that sales are up 32% with 190,000 in sales. Increased level by selling literature outside of Missouri. Their website is www.showmerso.org  They are making improvements to their website.

WSR  still looking for lessons from areas to bring information back to step guides in each area. They will also be doing workshops at cabin fever, High On Life Picnic, and possibly SMRCNA.

Outreach now has a Regional Subcommittee. They will be doing a workshop at Cabin Fever and are looking to do more. Also talked about the Rock and a diary to go with it.

SMRCNA B.O.D. needs 1 position filled now and there will be 3 more open in July. 3 yr. cleantime, 2 yr. term. Will also need a Chair for Zone 1  Mid Mo Area Quincy that is in July.

New Business -  All Regional Subcommittee positions are open. Treasurer is a 4 yr. cleantime, 2 yr. term, ViceChair is a 3yr cleantime 2yr term.  H&I, PI, Outreach and Literature 3yr cleantime, 1yr term.

Also I need $120.14 for my room at Region.   ILS, Dale S.

Subcommittee Reports:

Public Information Subcommittee Report   The literature order was received.  After attending a High Noon meeting in Neosho, the literature rack outside the Drug Court was restocked.  The coordinator for the Drug Court treatment team requested a P.I. presentation to their team at their monthly In-service training.  Plans were made for January 28th.  Later the presentation had to be canceled by the coordinator.  They will let the subcommittee know if we can do the presentation in February.  Their in-service is always the last Monday of the month.   Pamphlets were also placed at the Economic Security office in Neosho.  Spanish language pamphlets were requested there.  They will need to be ordered from RSO.

I attended the Regional Public Information Subcommittee.  A report was made about our workshops of Dec.1 and updating the phoneline.  A Regional Ad Hoc committee was established to develop a presentation for a member of the House of Representatives who could, supposedly, gather Division and Department heads at a state level to hear about N.A.  The new P.I. Chair from the Mid-Missouri Area was in a hurry to set this up.  He is the Ad Hoc Committee Chair.  Living so far away, I decided to not become involved with this Ad Hoc and focus on Ozark Area.

The Probation and Parole literature rack was stocked.  Copies of our meeting schedules were given to the receptionist to give to the Probation and Parole Officers.

Approximately 550 copies of Ozark Area's meeting schedules were run.  I have a receipt for $21.28 to be reimbursed for paper.

The next subcommittee meeting is next Saturday, January 26,2002 at 1330 Wall, Joplin, MO, We Do Recover Group's meeting place.  The committee will be electing a vice-chair and secretary, look over possible committee guidelines, address any questions, requests or problems from Ozark Area groups, and read Tradition 1 to discuss it in relation to Public Information work.  We'll start at 1 pm with a potluck lunch and have the committee meeting after.

I made up some fliers for the subcommittee meeting and the upcoming Conference Agenda Report Workshop in Southwest Missouri Area to pass out to the GSRs.   ILS, Pam M.

H & I:   Hello Ozark Area,   H & I is doing well, we are still holding 4 presentations at Ozark Center/New Directions The first Sunday of the month is a speaker meeting. We would like to formally invite all members of the fellowship to come out and support the speaker. The other  3 Sundays are a panel presentation held at 6:30pm.

We changed meeting times at the Laffayette House. They are now held the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 7:30pm. If you would like to get involved with Laffayette (females only) please contact Chris C. at 781-1680 or 529-2227(cell).

We are also holding 4 meetings a month at the Jasper County Jail. They are the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. The mens' times are from 9am to 11am and the women meet at 1pm to around 4pm. If you are interested in supporting our jail presentations contact Allen F.

We also have changed the time of our subcommittee meeting. They are held the third Saturday of the month at 618 Jackson (HOLC) at 3pm. We moved the time up so it will give Survivors Group plenty of time to conduct their business meeting.

Sandy B. from Neosho sent me a letter to let me know how they are doing. Since our last ASC they have been in Newton County one time. Some support and facility problems. They asked me if I would take back to the Groups a request for 1 or 2 women speakers that would be willing to get clearance for Newton County. If there are any women interested please contact Danielle

One last item of business. We have put together a flyer of our meeting times and place, and the time and place of or subcommittee meeting to be given to GSRs to take back to their Groups. Hopefully, this will stop ant confusion about H&I's monthly schedule. We would like to thank the Fellowship for their support.   ILS, Brian C.

HOLP 2002:   January 20, 2002   Hello Ozark Area,    Things with the picnic are going great. Our current bank balance is at $1637.92 as of January 18, 2002. We have 17 long sleeve shirts on hand and 58 coffee mugs at this time. We are expecting the coffee mug bill to come in and it should be around $300.00. The committee decided to change the color of the shirts to maroon because we are having a problem keeping the white ones clean. We have received 2 more pre registrations for a total of 24. We have still only received 1 suggestion for workshop topics, so GSR’s please talk about this with your group. We have decided to use Edward D. for our D.J. services at the picnic next year, and we picked our speakers, the speakers will be as follows- Friday Night David D. Joplin,MO, Saturday afternoon Larry from the Regional Service Office, Saturday Night Main Speaker Shemus M. Baltimore, MD and the Sunday Morning Speaker will be Dave S. from St. Louis, MO.
