RCM: Hello Ozark Area February 19, 2006
I attended the CAR workshop on Feb 11 and it was poorly attended. There were 7 addicts in attendance and 4 groups were represented. We went over the motions and talked about the discussion topics briefly. Please have your groups vote on the motions in the CAR and bring the number of for and against votes to area next month so I can carry them to Regionals the end of March. I need totals for each motion not simply whether it was for or against as each members vote goes to the WSC not the groups or area’s conscious. The Regional in March/April will be my last as the Ozark Area RCM so please have your groups thinking about who they would like to nominate. At Regionals the Outreach chair has offered to come do a GSR orientation if we are interested. Perhaps we could do it in connection with some other function There is one nomination for RSO Board of Directors that the groups need to vote on. The nominee is John H. from Overland (St Louis County). His resume is attached to the back of our minutes. There were no motions or other nominations to bring back. Nominations for SMRCNA BOD will open in April and there will be 3 vacancies to fill.

PS. I am including a copy of the regional resume form to be included with the minutes. The resume is attached to the back of these minutes.

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:
AASC
Hello OASC
The Area Birthday Celebration will be May 6th at Galena Senior Citizen Center. Pete I. will be the speaker. We have sold all the sweat shirts except 2 larges. Our account balance is $ 1,479.25. $ 1,279.25 for HOLP and $ 200.00 for AASC function money.
We will be ordering long sleeves T-Shirts this week and 6 more sweat shirts, 3 that have been pre-paid and 3 that were not. We will be mailing out pre-registrations this month. It is time to ask your groups if they want to do a work shop at the Picnic. The deadline on this will be May AASC. Also ask your groups if they would like to donate a basic text for the clean count down at the Picnic. The AASC will provide a Basic Text for the count down but if a group would like to donate one we will happily accept. Anyone with any regional speaker tapes to be considered need to get them to Renita G or Angie P. ASAP.

P.I.
Hello Ozark Area
P.I. did not meet on February 18, 2006 due to the weather. Our phone line is working where a person can call in and talk to a member of Narcotics Anonymous. We have had a few calls already only for information. We have talked to the Jr. High schools and they do not need a presentation. They have a D.A.R.E. program in place now. That is it for now

Butterflies are Free
GSR Report 2-19-06
We meet at Anderson Housing Auth. Thursdays at 8:00pm. This meeting has been sharing recovery to addicts for ten years now. Attendance has been up in recent months due to mutual support from an NA meeting in Grove, OK. We still struggle to keep all of our offices filled, but because of a few faithful members, Our singleness of purpose to share the message with the addict who still suffers has never been lost. The doors are always open every Thursday nights, and all are welcome to come. We have a $ 40.00 donation this month

SHARING SESSION:
Kenny should have said something about a vote. Groups that are not present can not vote. Also meetings should stay on the schedule incase there is an addict whether they are coming in the area. If a group is having a meeting but not attending area. Shellie is saying if they are not a part of the area we should not recognize them on our schedule. Renita is saying we can waive the guideline. Renita is saying our primary purpose is to carry the message. Dale is asking is point of turning still meeting. Shellie is saying if we do it for one we have to do it for all. Jackee is saying it now needs to go back to the group. But there is not a problem with spiritual principles because they are now attending area.
Mark talked to Bruce learning day with H&I and PI on area birthday. Renita is asking if we can make up H&I t-shirts to be sold at area birthday. Mark said they talk yesterday. They decided in the sub-committee meeting to buy their own t-shirts. Just have a learning day and not sale t-shirts. Dale said have your thing ready if you want to order a t-shirt just fill out a form. Jackee said a fund raiser selling t-shirts from H&I.
