Hello Ozark Area,
Jackee and I have been in contact about signatures on the Area bank account. She informed me, we had to fill out a new card. It will be taken care of today. I have talked to another addict from Nevada and their group is struggling from lack of unity. I feel as Area chair to mention this because every group in the Ozark Area is important and that we work together. I feel every group needs support and I learned this from my experience at Area

Last Month & Motions
Hello Ozark Area. Thanks again for sending me to the Show-Me Regional service committee meeting. Events of the weekend were Sat. morning the Regional Delegate reported her feedback on Regions and being 501c3 incorporated the response was minimal, but there were two Regions that were unincorporated and the only reason being is they just hadn’t got around to it.
Also she reported the SZF in Nov. was terrific. There was a PI and Phoneline presentation by Nicole, Jim and Pam from the Show-Me Region. The SZF Representative is currently working with the SEMO Area to coordinate the April/May 2003 SZF in the Show-ME Region. What the SZF needs prior to the Feb. meeting is a T-shirt design, and a flyer with information with the dates and location of the April/May SZF. Since the SZF has been such a hot topic in our Region she hopes as many as possible will attend.
Area report highlights, SWMO Area reports all was well, and the Pig Roast is the 2nd weekend in May. MO-KAN is having a Speaker Jam on Feb 22, in St. Joseph, MO and M.K.A.C.N.A. is may 2, 3, and 4th in Atchinson KS. St. Louis will be having and Area Convention the 3rd weekend in Oct.
We also took care of old business on Sat. Sorry I didn’t write the names down but all were elected including Cindy ?, for Campvention and John M. for Vice Chair the other guy won. The motions: Motion 1 failed, Motion 2 passed, and Steve should have a report on the open forum.
Sun. in subcommittee reports H&I and Outreach were not present the RSO reported that sales were over $200,000 up from $190,000 from last Quarter they also have 3 positions open.
SMRCNA coffee cups pre-reg by 4-1-03

Hello Ozark Area,
My Vice-Chair wanted to get his feet wet in the area, so he was kind enough to let me work at home today. Thank you Allen for your loving service.
H & I is doing well in our area. We are still holding 14 meetings in 5 facilities.
H & I N.A. presentations per month are below:
Jasper County Jail - 4 meetings (2 female and 2 male)
Newton County Jail - 2 meetings
Ozark Center - 4 meetings
Lafayette House - 2 meetings
House Of Hope - 2 meetings
House of Hope has already jumped from 1 meeting a month to 2 meetings a month. The meeting went very well and had good support.
We also are looking at bringing back the other 2 meetings at Lafayette House that we had to drop last year due to lack of support. Things have changed and we have a lot of females wanting to support these meetings. Thank you ladies. I am proud to be part of H & I and thank you to everyone for their support in H & I. It's a we program and we cannot do it alone.
In Loving Service,
Kenny C.

Greetings,
Due to personal business and business of those in the subcommittee, we were unable to attend the Interim workshop. I’ve been in touch with the Regional Chair and He will e-mail me a report. Ozark Area subcommittee is interested in putting on the next interim in May. I’ve been in touch with our AWAM Chair regarding this.
The review for the I.P., Outline and 1st chapter of Sponsorship book have been sent in. There was a tremendous response to our workshop at Cabin Fever – It was a success. Very different opinions, there were no bad ideas, and our Higher Power was definitely in command. It was awesome.
We meet again next Sunday – WDR at 2:30 pm. We plan to review traditions 9 & 10. Those interested please attend.
In Loving Service,

The Public Information Subcommittee of Ozark Area Narcotics Anonymous met at 2:00pm, February 15, 2003. The meeting was held at 1330 Wall in Joplin, MO. We opened the meeting with the Serenity Prayer. Bill read the 12 Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous and Tammy read the 12 Concepts of Service in N.A. We went over what had happened at ASC in January. Survivor's Group asked P.I. to look into an area website. The Ozark Area voted to do this. A website has been set up by Debra B., who is also willing to be webmaster for the next 2 years if the area wants. Debra is the person who formats and updates our area meeting schedules and has them printed for us at a considerable discount through her work. The website she has put together for the Area to look at will be presented at this ASC. I had also told the Ozark Area I would update our meeting schedules at the na.org website. After looking at the paperwork I have, I became reluctant to do this. The Web Contact is a new service position set up by world for their update information. If the Area would like me to fill that Web Contact position, I will be glad to do so. I did not want to go into the world website and get a code by which to change our information without being the Ozark Area's Web Contact. We went over the phoneline problems. The local # has been fixed and rings directly to the answering service. Jan at Joplin Answering Service was contacted and the problems with calls where addicts wanted to talk to another addict were passed on to her. The P.I. Subcommittee as a whole will be placing calls at the end of next week to test this change of behavior by the answering service. They have been putting people on hold and not getting back to them or promising a call back and never calling back. So, if you are a phoneline volunteer and get a call from someone you know in the area, we are just testing the answering service's work. Russ had PSA scripts retyped and will get them to Renita this week to fax to the radio stations. Fliers will be reprinted. Schedules were printed and some given to H&I. Handouts were given to people interested in being involved in presentations. The handouts were briefly gone over. Definite contacts will be made with the Jasper County Juvenile Office, Probation and Parole, Division of Family Services, and the Joplin High School Guidance office. If dates are set up with these offices, we will practice presentations. New people interested in doing the panels are Craig, Renita, Tammy, Shelley, and Sandee. The next P.I. meeting is 2pm, Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 1330 Wall, Joplin, MO. Respectfully submitted, Pam Mueller, P.I. Chair, Ozark Area, 119 S. Connor, Joplin, MO 417-782-1467 mueller_pam@hotmail.com

Everything is up to speed and moving forward. Have sold some sweatshirts and are getting more plus long sleeve tees, white & black, black & gold, pocket and no pocket.
Linda Q. is heading up the coffee cup and hat artwork, so if you have input, put it in.
Collected $700 to date, all is accounted for.
Next subcommittee meeting is March 15, 3:30pm at We Do Recover 1330 Wall in Joplin, MO.
ILS, Doug B.

Reopen with the Serenity Prayer
Presentation by Debra B. about the website. Yahoo mail account opened to access Internet for the website, since the e-mail shouldn’t be individually owned. 6M free for website. Debra willing to be webmaster for 2 years. Debra read from NA World Services – Public Information Resource Paper on PI and the World Wide Web (April 1998).
Discussion: Concerns regarding communications between PI and the webmaster. Who will webmaster the site, what they are accountable for and what we want on the site.

Good Afternoon Area 02-11-03
The Never Alone Group is doing very well, we are located on the corner of 7th & Cole St. 405 7th in Monett. We hold our meetings in the Basement of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, we are handicapped accessible. Our meetings are non-smoking. We are quite pleased to say that our attendance at the meetings have increased from roughly 5 addicts per meeting last month, to almost 16 addicts per meeting our attendance has almost tripled in the last month. We also have addicts wanting to help Chair meetings.
We also went from worrying about paying rent in just 4 weeks, to being able to pay our rent for April, May and June in advance, ordering very much needed literature, and having condiments for coffee, providing their GSR $6.12 for gas to get to Area and yes we even have a donation to Area, as small as it may be, it’s a donation of $3.00. Regretfully that’s all we can afford to donate because as of now our balance is $0. we are doing the best we can, we see dome groups donating $65.00 or more at a time, sorry we just cannot afford to do it right now.
