ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS:
Chair Report: Hello Ozark area:
I’m sorry I was not able to attend last month’s meeting. I was not feeling up to it. But I’m better this month. I would like to offer my apologies for the mix-up on moving the High On Life Picnic to Stockton Lake. All we wanted was to try to put our picnic back in our area at a cleaner lake, closer to home. But there is no accounting for the mind changing of hotels and staff. I’m sorry it didn’t work out like we hoped. ILS, Kenny C.
Vice-Chair Report: Greetings OASC: 2/18/07
This past month I attended meetings in Joplin. NA continues to welcome new and returning members into our fellowship. Yesterday I attended subcommittee meetings at WDR from 1:30pm- 5:15pm. 12 addicts attended the PI subcommittee meeting. 12 addicts attended the H&I subcommittee meeting. And 10 addicts attended the AASC subcommittee meeting.
I was asked to fill in for an addict this month chairing an Ozark Center meeting. I wanted to invite addicts from my sponsorship tree and have a sponsorship panel. But Debbie punked out – something about work and a company dinner, commitments to family members... My grandsponsee, Terry, and her sponsee Cammy did participate along with our friend Karen. The meeting was great! I think there was only one female client though.
Again, I want to thank Jackee for typing last month’s reports and emailing those to me. I was able to copy and paste those easily into the minutes making only a few minor adjustments. I also want to thank Debra and David for emailing this month’s reports to me already. Since I am off work tomorrow (nice benefit of my new position), this month I can type the reports in myself. I will have the minutes to you by the end of the week.
News from our absent Literature Review Chair: A project is now underway to revise our Youth and Recovery IP. The new pamphlet is entitled “By Young Addicts For Young Addicts” and will replace the existing IP. I have requested a draft. Any addict interested in meeting with me when I receive my draft, please let me know. Input deadline is May 2007. Thank you for allowing me to be of service.
ILS - Shelie V, OASC Vice Chair
PS: H&I Chair called me today asking me to submit a report to area for the H&I subcommittee. H&I Chair and H&I Vice Chair could not be here today according to Steve. H&I report follows.
H&I Report: Greetings OASC: 2/18/07
It was reported in yesterday’s subcommittee meeting that 5 women’s names and 5 men’s names besides the coordinators will be accepted by Lieutenant Gibson. All jail meetings are going well. We do need a man to step up for the Jasper County Jail. March 2007 Mark will no longer be available to do this. Two meetings were not held at the Lafayette House. Chairs responsible did contact H&I chair &/or H&I vice chair and report that they could not/did not facilitate the scheduled meeting. It was reported that the Ozark Center on Picher is going well. However, the Ozark Center C-Star meeting at 3rd & Virginia has not been held consistently. Don G. stepped forward to see that this meeting is held as scheduled. The subcommittee discussed plans for having an H&I function in June at the Galena Senior Citizen’s Center. Out-of-town H&I members have been invited and expressed interest in attending. In order to adhere to our 8th Concept (“Our service structure depends on the integrity and effectiveness of our communications”) a list of H&I members is being compiled. This list can be utilized in order to prevent meetings being missed. Any addict who is interested in sharing at H&I meetings please attend the subcommittee meeting or see an H&I member to see what is required.
ILS, Shelie V, H&I Secretary

SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS:
AASC Report:
We accomplished a lot last month and at the subcommittee meeting on Sat 2/17/07 at We Do Recover. We chose 3 of the 4 speakers for the picnic. Kenny C will speak Fri night. Ralph F will speak Sat afternoon. And Tony G will speak Sun morning. I went to cabin Fever and distributed fliers about the picnic staying at Bucksaw. At the Sat night speaker meeting they made an announcement for us. I also notified Mr. Bill and Larry from the RSO. Kent from Zorr Enterprises will be doing the taping. We made some changes with the entertainment. We will have DJ music on Fri and the band on Sat night. We will still have the Jam session on Sat afternoon. We will be adding a Fri night candlelight beach meeting. We would like to have at least 3 workshops. We would really like to get the groups to do these workshops. Please discuss this with your group and bring back workshop ideas. Our picnic money is $1108.33. ($908.33 HOLP & $200 AASC). All the sweatshirts have been sold. So another $200 will be deposited next week. In Loving Service, Renita G.
PS. We still need a Secretary and Registration chair.
P.I. Report: Greetings Ozark Area:
There were 12 addicts present at yesterday’s subcommittee meeting including vice chair, secretary and webmaster. There was a discussion about putting on a PI workshop and professional and community presentations. The committee is asking for volunteers with some years of clean time to speak at these presentations. There was also discussion of a phone line sign up and pizza flier day. I’m submitting a literature order in the amount of $320.82. that’s all for now. In Loving Service, Dawson G. PI Vice Chair
Ozark Area Website minutes for February 2007 2/17/07
The ozarkasc.com website is running without difficulty. Schedule and activities are updated, and archives are as current as is possible. My apologies for the lack of minutes for January. I was without electricity or water or internet for 11 days and was busy trying to stay warm and clean! February is the month for the website coordinator to attend a quarterly Public Information Subcommittee meeting; I’ll be there. No other news; let me know if there are any questions. ILS, Debra B.

Our meeting attendance is steady with 40-50 addicts. We are still planning on having our annual campout the second weekend of September so look for more information to come out on that soon. We have an area donation of $30.17. ILS, David B.
Point of Turning:
We continue to meet uptown at the community building on Tues at 7pm and Thurs at 8pm. We are averaging only 12-14 per meeting and contributions are slowing as well. Rent is paid and heat works well. The group voted to back off our $20 monthly donation to $10 due to slow down in funds for a while until we get caught up on fixing the heat in the building but hope to send more as it picks up! My apologies for not making the last month as we had 3 inches of ice and 7 inches of snow on so I didn’t risk it. We are looking forward on the 18th of March to hosting you guys at our little spot in the park in our effort to give back that which has been freely given to us all at 2:00. Take 71N to 54E to 82 turn right to the park on Spring St. down in the community building. $20 donation.
Respectfully submitted, Danny S.
